MARINE COLLAGEN: IRISH MOSS

Sea moss, scientifically known as Chondrus crispus, is a type of seaweed or seagrass. It grows in waters along the rocky coasts of the Atlantic, mainly between North America and Europe. It is edible similar to other seaweeds, such as Kelp or dulse.

Sea moss grows in a range of colors, including different shades of green, yellow, purple, red, brown and black.

It has a high content of collagen, nutrients and bioavailable minerals (which the body can absorb). It can be applied to the skin and taken one to two tablespoons a day. See below how.

BENEFITS

May support thyroid health. Seagrasses are rich in iodine, a micronutrient necessary for healthy thyroid function.

It may support the immune system. A study in salmon found that supplemental algae improved immune modulation and response.

May improve gut health. Seagrasses are a good source of live bacteria and fiber, both of which support a healthy gut microbiome.

Helps strengthen body tissues including muscles, skin, bones, joints, nails and hair

PREPARATION

✔️ Hydrate approximately 10 grams in water until the algae are well covered
✔️ Rest for 2/3 hours
✔️ Strain and reserve the water. Use that water for your hair or plants (it's super nutritious)
✔️ I wash it well to remove traces of salt or residue.
✔️ Blend the pure, hydrated and filtered seaweed with new distilled or filtered water. It should cover up to twice the volume of the seaweed.
✔️ Store this gel in a glass jar. It lasts 3-4 weeks.

USE

Take one or two tablespoons a day on an empty stomach. You can drink water afterwards to finish digesting it, or add it to your drinks and food (it gives a creamy/gelatinous texture).

Topically: You can take a very small piece with a little water, rub it in your hands and spread it on your face and body skin, as seen in the video. Collagen helps nourish the skin.
