Purification and Rebirth

Just as the mind and heart undergo profound changes during awakening, so must the body. Bodily changes occur on many levels, but for this blog post, I'll focus on the simplest and most basic aspects: detoxification, diet, and so on.

After waking up, your body undergoes the changes necessary to regain its natural health. Your natural health isn't something you find in a fitness or yoga magazine, much less a fashion magazine. You'd better get rid of that kind of body propaganda. It perpetuates so many lies.

Your body knows exactly what natural form it should be in for optimal health, and a spiritual awakening puts you on the path to becoming your natural form and will require all the necessary changes to get there.

The body does not believe in ideas

Let me pause to let this sink in.

The body does not believe in ideas.

Do you already have it? Or are you still thinking about what your body should look like and wish (and expect) it to offer you a specific image and give you ideas about attractiveness, fitness, and/or performance?

It's easy to get stuck in body ideals. Western culture (like most) presents many ideas about what the body should look like and what it should be able to do. But these are external ideas, not bodily realities. On this path, we're interested in reality, and the body brings us back to reality.

Detoxifying the body


Many people overdo detoxification through supplements and cleanses. They try to impose an idea of purity on the body. A whole host of ideas and methodologies have developed around detoxification. It's a game of ironclad guesswork where "experts" guess what optimal physical health should be for many other people. This game of supplements and detoxification has been monetized and widely distributed in health stores and supermarkets. Much of this is a completely unnecessary form of "detoxification."

Additionally, the following video from the Seeker YouTube channel offers insights into the uselessness of most vitamins. This channel focuses on discussing scientific research and offers reflections on how vitamins emerged during the Industrial Revolution, when people began getting sick from not eating nutritious foods.

Seriously, malnutrition is crazy for a supposedly advanced civilization, but this is real because people don't eat what is natural to eat.

Plus, your body knows when and how to detox, and that natural detox can kick in when you wake up. This is completely different from the latest detox fad. Because your body actually knows what to eliminate.

To support this, this is the time when eliminating toxins and other non-nutritive substances can be vital. This may include:

drugs,
marijuana,
alcohol,
cigarettes,
excessive caffeine consumption,
excessive sugar consumption,
and other unnecessary substances.


This detox can happen in waves or all at once. It can also include detoxing from foods high in preservatives, processed oils, red meat, and anything else your body doesn't need. Some changes will be more permanent than others. You may be able to return to eating meat after processing some old issues and attachments, but you may find your body needs very little of it.

After at least the initial detox, you can engage in more serious inner work. This detox phase simply consists of clearing your workspace to address the deeper issues that were hidden behind a lot of junk. Once that junk is gone, you can delve deeper into the deeper issues and begin to listen to what your body is really saying about things.

The change in dietary needs


Many people are still so familiar with certain substances and junk foods that they've taught their bodies to crave unhealthy things. Desire and physical craving are intertwined and stem from corrupted self-nourishment. If the situation is very serious, fasting can be very helpful in resetting the system. But this is something that must be done mindfully and, for many of you, under medical or nutritional supervision.

The goal of fasting at this stage is to gain enough clarity to identify which foods your body needs and not the ones it's grown accustomed to. With this awareness, you begin to consciously modify your diet.

Dietary changes and nutritional needs in the process of spiritual awakening

As you become more aware of this, you'll learn many, many things about food, substances, and your body.

For example, you may discover that some foods are problematic for addressing deeper issues. Some people eliminate bread from their diet while dealing with certain problems. But they may reintroduce it later. Different foods reinforce, hide, or mask different problems. It's quite interesting, really.

In any case, this deeper healing and dissolution of ego issues often require dietary changes during awakening. Afterward, you again have much more freedom regarding what you can eat, but because your connection to your body makes you so aware of the effects of everything you ingest, it becomes increasingly unlikely that you will want to eat something that makes you feel bad, or at least not optimally healthy.

Discussions with health professionals

Some people need even more help than simply listening to their body and the guidance of awakened energy. This is okay. We all need help from time to time.

I know this can be tricky because most health professionals are unfamiliar with the rigors of spiritual transformation that arises from awakened energy. Do your best to focus on the solutions your intuition and body sense have provided you. And if you already know you have issues with caffeine, overeating, undereating, lack of exercise, poor sleep, and others, then talk about it. Most doctors and health professionals don't need the context of spiritual awakening to really help guide your changes in nutrition, activity, sleep, etc.

Also, please talk to your doctor, psychiatrist, or any other professional who has prescribed any medication for you. I know some of you have read about miraculous cures where a health or psychological problem disappears after awakening. This does happen. If the ego is involved in creating the imbalance, resolving it often resolves the imbalances created. But there are things your body may simply need help with. So don't dismiss mood stabilizers or any other medication you need imagining that awakened energy will fix everything. Awakened energy is not a panacea.

Reaching a new level of physical health

Many people need to detoxify and change many eating, activity, and sleeping habits, but that's not all that's happening in the body. Meanwhile, the awakened energy continues to work on deeper issues.

When a problem completely disappears from the body or a spiritual realization is fully integrated, a new sense of physical vitality may be felt. It can't be faked. It simply feels. With that, a new level of everyday physical health may arrive that you could not have imagined. It is at this point that some of you truly realize how unhealthy you were in the past. The surprising thing is that many of you who thought you had good health may discover how wrong you were about it. There are many distorted ideas about health in modern Western culture, and therefore, many will be surprised at how poorly you have treated yourself when you thought you were taking care of yourself.

And, of course, there are also the issues of ego and attachments that accumulate in the body. Carrying problems not only affects the mind and heart, but also the body. In part, this is because our actions are born out of fears, pain, trauma, and other issues. We harm ourselves in many ways and then self-medicate and numb ourselves to hide the pain we cause.

In short, detoxing, adopting a healthy lifestyle, and eliminating unprocessed pain and limiting issues leads to greater physical flexibility, relaxation, vitality, and overall energy. Overall, these four indicators are excellent for knowing if a problem has truly disappeared from the body. But on the other hand, when it happens, you don't need anyone to tell you.

Your changing body

With these changes, you are acquiring the body shape that best suits you. As I've emphatically stated, this is not an image from a television show. Most of those images are carefully curated, and those media have manipulated many people in Western society. As a result, some women who are too thin end up gaining weight. Men who are too muscular may lose weight and muscle mass. Whatever the reason someone hasn't been true to their body, it will change to align with their natural shape.

This is one aspect of integrating awakened energy into the body, and time and again, this path leads people to what is most natural. When a person is delivered , things can progress more easily and even more peacefully. Where there is resistance, any discomfort caused by the necessary physical changes will be amplified, and the person may feel even greater pain.

The revitalized body

A revitalized body is not interested in pain or suffering, and some may be surprised by the physical activities they no longer want to do. Those who practice high-performance sports may lose interest in those activities temporarily. Or even permanently. It depends on the individual, and high-performance sports often involve a lot of pain and suffering.

In general, unnecessary pain and suffering (the latter always unnecessary) are pointless in any sense. The more you can listen to your body's wisdom, the more naturally it will feel to listen to it and do what it wants.

Furthermore, the more you surrender to awareness, the less division you experience. The feeling of "my body wants this, but my mind wants that" diminishes. The two become one. Everything becomes integrated. You realize more fully that there is only Now and that we are all one.

However, when we're trapped in the ego, we focus most of our attention on the future or the past. This diverts physical energy from the present. That energy is projected onto experiences, relationships, partners, jobs, etc. We constantly chase them and become exhausted. We then turn to caffeine, sugar, and other stimulants to keep us on the impossible quest for lost energy. We seek other substances and activities to compensate for the lost energy and fill the void we've created within ourselves.

But after awakening, those false aspirations are illuminated, and without that unhealthy mindset, we stop stressing our bodies. Therefore, a revitalized body is a stress-free body.

The rebirth of your sexuality

I know some of you have seen your sexuality snuffed out during awakening. This is part of the rebuilding process for many. When so much energy and focus is elsewhere, your sexuality can take a backseat. But it's also a sacred part of your body. Nothing is left behind, and accessing your sexuality in an awakened way is a completely different matter. It's no longer about procreation and pleasure. These aren't forgotten, but deeper interests toward union and the flow of orgasmic energy are awakened. These can be cultivated in your own space when the time is right.

For those who experience awakening more specifically as the rising of kundalini energy from the sexual regions, they may feel overwhelmed by sexual energy. It is necessary to focus it inward to continue the transformation. Sharing sexual energy with others can be exhausting for both men and women, and especially if it is very intense, learning to have a personal spiritual sexual practice can be deeply rewarding and help heal and release many issues.

Above all, the rebirth of sexuality is not a continuation of longing, but rather enjoying the joy of sharing sexuality with oneself and with others. It does not aim for orgasm. It simply enjoys the space and everything freely offered, which is what all of life looks like from the state of awakening.

The humanity of the body

Yet, despite all this transformation, the body will still be the body; a part of this world that lives and dies. We will continue to get sick. We will continue to suffer from hearing loss, vision loss, hair loss, and other ailments as the body continues its journey toward death. This is inevitable. We don't gain a superbody after a spiritual awakening. We simply come to appreciate and feel fully in control of our bodies. We can better perceive their needs and, in doing so, we can maintain better health than ever before.
